Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection might not have a training mode

Maximilian's preview of the game discusses the options (and lack thereof) in the current build

Yesterday, we got our first look at the upcoming Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. This May, fans will be able to dive back into 12 "arcade-perfect conversions" of classic Street Fighter titles, five of which will feature full online support.

While arcade-perfect is something that should definitely excite longtime players of these series, this approach might actually be a bit of a double-edged sword. One thing every arcade goer knows is that cabinets featuring fighting games usually don't have a training mode -- which is intentional, of course, because it would be unfair for someone to put their money in and spend hours in training while others wanted to have their turn.

Maximilian recently got his hands on the current build of the anniversary collection, and in his preview notes that no training option is present at this time.

While this could very well be a result of an unfinished build, there exists ways in-game to access different modes that aren't a standard menu with options. Booting up any of the games found in the collection launches you right into the action -- like it would in arcades -- and if you hold certain button combinations while starting the game of choice, you can access things like Dramatic Battle in Street Alpha 3.

Also not present was a standard versus mode, however, Max notes that he was assured there will be one in the game. So, though there's still a chance we see training mode come launch, the entire arcade motif makes its omission understandable.

In this preview, Max goes on to discuss how the games feel, the special features included in the collection and much more.
