It's official: SonicFox and GO1 will be facing off in Dragon Ball FighterZ at Final Round this weekend

After quite a bit of trash talk, the two competitors will run a first-to-10 exhibition

If you've been following the competitive Dragon Ball FighterZ scene lately, then you've probably heard the names FOX|SonicFox and CO|GO1.

The two top-level competitors -- known for their accolades in NetherRealm Studios games and Street Fighter 5, respectively -- have both been trying their hand at Arc System Works' new 3v3 fighting title, and they're both damn good at it.

Now, the two players will officially square off, and the exhibition is taking place at Final Round in Atlanta, Georgia, this weekend.

The event's official Twitter account made the announcement earlier today. Fans can expect the action to take place on March 16th at 6 p.m. EST / 3 p.m. PST.

We have been hearing rumblings about a potential match up between these two players for the past couple of weeks, but now we have it straight from an official source.

This bout will be first-to-10 format, and it's definitely not a match you'll want to miss.

Being amazing at nearly every game he sinks his teeth into, SonicFox is a prime target in Dragon Ball FighterZ right now. Not only has he been the player to beat at the East Coast Next Level Battle Circuit weekly event, but SonicFox also took home first place in the first major event for the game, Winter Brawl 12.

GO1 has been putting in work as well. With his exceptionally high win rate online and his win in the Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament at MixUpNight in Osaka, Japan, GO1 has proven to be quite the formidable foe.

The rivalry between these two competitors actually began at the MixUpNight event. Picking up the mic for a few seconds after his win, GO1 said "next is you, SonicFox," effectively calling out the stateside player.

Responding on Twitter, SonicFox wrote "GOICHI COME. IVE BEEN MEANING TO TAKE YOUR HEAD AND SHOW YOU WHOS PERFECT." He would later call out GO1 on the Winter Brawl 12 stream after his big win.

"GO1, omae wa mou shindeiru," SonicFox said to GO1 as a bewildered IFCYipes and Chris Matrix sat at the commentary table. For those unaware, the statement translates to "You are already dead," and is a reference to Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star -- which has become a popular meme online.
