Enjoy this detailed rundown of what CEO has to offer this year

This weekend, we'll all be able to tune in to CEO 2018, one fo the biggest fighting game events of the year, typically held annually in June.

Not only is it a Premier Event for the Capcom Pro Tour, Master Event for the Tekken World Tour and a Premier Event for the Injustice 2 Pro Series, but it'll also be the inaugural event of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour, kicking off a competitive circuit for one of the most popular fighting games around.

Besides this, a bunch of other titles are also being played at the event, so let's take a look at what we've got to look forward to this weekend.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

Entrants: 646
Days played: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
A few notable entrants: CO|Go1, FOX|SonicFox, NRG|HookGangGod, CO|Dogura, EG|NYChrisG, CO|Fenrich, GGP|Kazunoko, Ponos|Moke, TSM|Leffen, UYU|Cloud805

Although with slightly fewer entrants than last month's Combo Breaker, Dragon Ball FighterZ is still loaded with practically all the talent you've come to expect from that game.

Any player who's made their mark on the scene so far is going to be there, and there's undoubtedly room for upsets galore.

The main storyline of the game when it first came out was the dominance showed by CO|Go1, but in the last few months it started to look like he'd been surpassed by FOX|SonicFox. However, this rivalry had a wrench thrown into it back at the Summit of Power earlier this month, where NRG|HookGangGod surpassed them both, at least for that particular weekend.

These three players are definitely the ones with all the eyes on them right now, but who knows what's actually going to happen at the event? Summit of Power showed us in no uncertain terms that upsets can, and will, happen even at the very top level, so you'd better not count anyone out of this one.

Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition

Entrants: 556
Days played: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
A few notable entrants: PG|Infiltration, FOX|Tokido, FD|Fujimura, CYG|Daigo, UYU|NL, NuckleDu, CYG|Fuudo, RZR|Xian, UYU|OilKing, Mouz|Problem X

The Capcom Pro Tour has been going strong all year so far, and there's been some healthy back-and-forth at the top spots.

Even though FOX|Tokido and PG|Infiltration are leading the points this year, it's a far cry from the dominance we saw from these two players for the first half of 2016, when the game was newly released.

It's been established well that at this point in Street Fighter 5's lifespan, the gods can bleed, and it's a hard call to put anyone at top with over 500 entrants showing up.

This is really a game and a scene strong enough where anything can happen, so you'd do best in putting your sidebet money away for this weekend lest you want to end up with a hole in your wallet.

Tekken 7

Entrants: 346
Days played: Saturday, Sunday
A few notable entrants: FOX|JDCR, FOX|Saint, UYU|Qudans, Kkokkoma, UYU|Jeondding, Jimmy J Tran, AR|Book, RB|Anakin, PG|Speedkicks, Circa|JoeyFury

CEO 2018 will be the host of yet another Master Event for the Tekken World Tour, and we're far away from the days where comments sections where filled with people complaining about every grand final ending up being FOX|JDCR vs. FOX|Saint.

Although the EVO Japan champion ROX|Knee seems to be absent from the competition, your Tekken World Tour 2017 champion UYU|Qudans will be present, as weill many other top contenders, including the ever-elusive Jimmy J Tran, one of the best players in North America, and honestly, the entire world as well.<7p>

With players gathered from all across the world to battle it out, there's a lot of potential for upsets here, even though there are some clear frontrunners as well. With the Master Event prize pool bonus and ranking points for the tour on the line, nobody's going to come here for research or for taking it easy - they're coming here to win, and have the momentum going into EVO 2018 at the beginning of August.

Super Smash Bros. 4

Entrants: 665
Days played: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
A few notable entrants: FOX|MKLeo, NRG|Nairo, P1|Tweek, GRV|Dabuz, Liquid|Salem, 2GG|Komorikiri, BC|Mr. R, MSF|Larry Lurr, Cosmos, Samsora

With the announcement of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you might expect the Super Smash Bros. 4 scene to calm down a bit, but they have done anything but. Sporting the highest amount of entrants, even higher than the three games with active tours above, this is a scene far from any sort of lull period.

Although the most famed player of the game, TSM|ZeRo, remains retired, that only makes the rest of the competitiors all the more hungry to grab that #1 spot of fame, with powerhouses such as FOX|MKLeo, NRG|Nairo, P1|Tweek, GRV|Dabuz, Liquid|Salem and 2GG|Komorikiri all coming out to show what they've got.

There's going to be a lot of emotion, hard work and sacrifice carried on the backs of these players as they work through the bracket this weekend, but all that remains now is to settle it in Smash.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Entrants: 437
Days played: Friday, Saturday
A few notable entrants: Liquid|Hungrybox, TSM|Leffen, FOX|Mew2King, PG|Plup, Frys|Wizzrobe, PG|Zain, CLG|SFAT, Tempo|S2J, OG|Swedish Delight, Crush

With Liquid|Hungrybox, hailed as the best Super Smash Bros. Melee player right now, present at the event, there might be reason to think that this event is already a done deal.

Thinking so would be a mistake, however, since we have fellow god-level player FOX|Mew2King, coming in hot off his win at Smash Summit 6 last month, as well as the so-called godslayers TSM|Leffen and PG|Plup both present at the event.

The top levels of Super Smash Bros. Melee may be relatively set in stone, but the shakeups between them never stop happening. On top of that, it would be far from shocking to see players like Frys|Wizzrobe, PG|Zain, CLG|SFAT or Tempo|S2J cause some real upsets in the bracket.

In short, it's not over until the fat Jigglypuff sings.

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2

Entrants: 158
Days played: Friday, Saturday
A few notable entrants: GGP|Kazunoko, LostSoul, KidViper, BjornSonOfBear, UYU|KizzieKay

Most of America's strong competitors for Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 are showing up for CEO 2018 to show what they're made of.

Of course, one of Japan's finest, GGP|Kazunoko, is also present at the event, though it remains to be seen how he's going to handle juggling his Guilty Gear responsibilities with his entry in both Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition and Dragon Ball FighterZ as well.

There's no room for underestimating your competitors, here. If GGP|Kazunoko expects a free ride, he may end up regretting it deeply. LostSoul already took a huge event over GGP|Kazunoko once, is he going to do a repeat performance here?

Injustice 2

Entrants: 147
Days played: Friday, Saturday
A few notable entrants: FOX|SonicFox, ALG|Dragon, FOX|Theo, BC|Biohazard, Noble|Semiij

The Injustice 2 Pro Series is out in full force, and there'll be a large pot bonus for the game at CEO 2018 because of it.

Last year, there was heated discussion about who actually was on top in the game between FOX|SonicFox and ALG|Dragon after both players posted amazing results and took home some huge events.

This isn't going to be the final showdown between the two, assuming they don't get stopped on their way by all the other talented players present even, but if they do match up against eachother, it'll just be a taste of what's to come later this year at the main event.

Under Night In-Birth EXE: Late[st]

Entrants: 110
Days played: Saturday
A few notable entrants: Clim, KPB|JDR, BxA|Argenrost, PAG|Fame96, SUCC|AyoItsDave

Under Night is definitely the little game that could. Released to little fanfare, it's been staying around with a dedicated fanbase, and it feels like the attendance at tournaments is actually growing, if anything.

CEO 2018 is stacked as well, of course, with over 100 combatants showing up to demonstrate their skills. Just because BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is out, don't think that UNIST has become forgotten just yet.

These guys and girls are here to win, and there are going to be a lot of fierce battles to reach the finals.

Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo

Entrants: 93
Days played: Saturday, Sunday
A few notable entrants: RB|Snake Eyez, Nuki, Damdai, AfroLegends, SilentScope

Despite its low number of entrants relative to the top titles, Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo is extremely important at CEO this year.

As a qualifier for the Tournament of Legends 3, so players have to bring their A game to make it into this prestigious event.

Of course, the competition is looking very real. There's the four-time Super Turbo EVO runner up Nuki flying out from Japan, as well as two EVO champions for the HD Remix version of the game in RB|Snake Eyez and AfroLegends.

The game may be old, but it's far from dead. The game that started it all still has a brightly burning flame, and CEO will just be one of the many opening acts leading up to the eventual Tournament of Legends in October later this year.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

Entrants: 92
Days played: Friday, Saturday
A few notable entrants: UYU|Cloud805, EG|NYChrisG, FOX|Punk, FOX|Dekillsage, NoelBHungry

Although Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is still less than a year old, several players have made their mark on the game's competitive history, and the majority of them are going to be competing at CEO as well.

The champion of the Battle of the Stonest event from last winter, UYU|Cloud805, will be looking to defend his title against modern Marvel vs. Capcom legend EG|NYChrisG, though there are obviously a ton of other competitors out for blood as well.

If you enjoy the high-paced tag-heavy action of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, you'll be in for a treat this weekend.

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike

Entrants: 88
Days played: Saturday
A few notable entrants: Nuki, EG|NYChrisG, EG|Ricki Ortiz

With Nuki flying out to fight in Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike, you can expect some real throwbacks in the almost-100 player strong bracket for this classic title.

While very few have it as their main game in this day and age, old dogs seldom forget their old tricks, so whether you're an OG who loves 3rd Strike to the bone or a newer player who isn't too familiar with the game, this'll be a great one to tune in for.

Killer Instinct

Entrants: 81
Days played: Saturday
A few notable entrants: UA|Bass, Circa|Nicky, MnT|Thompxson

There's a whopping $15,000 pot bonus available for Killer Instinct at the event, so stakes are huge for the players entering.

Even though Killer Instinct has seen less activity as of late, most of the top threats are still around, and there's little doubt that CEO 2018 will be super competitive.

King of Fighters 14

Entrants: 44
Days played: Friday
A few notable entrants: DouyuTV|Xiao Hai, ON|Vicio, VegasKoF|Wero Asamiya

What better way to motivate you than having an EVO champion present for your game?

Every King of Fighters player at the event will be looking to take down DouyuTV|Xiao Hai, so get ready for some intense battles.

Capcom vs. SNK 2

Entrants: 40
Days played: Saturday
A few notable entrants: Bas, EG|Ricki Ortiz, EG|NYChrisG

The eternal legend of the Capcom vs. SNK 2 scene is still here, and still ready to take on any challengers.

It's been a very long time since we saw Bas lose in Capcom vs. SNK 2, and although it's doubtful things will be any different this weekend, hope is the last thing to abandon us, as they say.

I sincerely hope you enjoyed this detailed preview of the upcoming weekend's festivities, and please enjoy CEO 2018, as well as our full coverage of it which will be done live throughout the entirety of the event.
