'Jiggle physics aren't gone in Dead or Alive 6, they're just toned down' - Producer Yohei Shimbori directly addresses DoA6's character sexualization
Kasami (and presumably others) will still have her traditional costume
Since Dead or Alive 6 was revealed last Wednesday, a great deal of community banter has focused on the development team's decision to tone down sexuality, perhaps the franchise's most widely known trademark.
Scantily-clad characters and overly jiggly assets have become so much expected that Team Ninja almost immediately began receiving social media heat once word that such aspects of the game may not be returning in the latest entry got out.
Producer and Director for Dead or Alive 6, Yohei Shimbori, spoke directly on this matter during a Twitch E3 stream.
"We got a lot of comments about the jiggle and the bounce, but to be honest with you, that’s something that is part of the genes of the DOA series, so it’s not gone entirely. We’ve taken an approach where it’s more realistic and natural. We just wanted to clarify that. It’s not how people think of it. It’s just toned down," said Shimbori.
Furthermore Shimbori also clarified that Kasumi's traditional blue costume would be coming back in Dead or Alive 6. Though he only spoke about Kasumi in this respect, we wouldn't be surprised to find that other iconic legacy characters will be getting the same treatment.
