On June 8, 2018, Dead or Alive 6 was revealed. This was quite the pleasant surprise for fans considering the somber farewell message the Dead or Alive 5 team left the tournament scene back in December of last year.

Team Ninja is making a number of interesting decisions with Dead or Alive 6. For one, they are making a conscious effort to make the characters less sexualized.

Dead or Alive 6 is also the first game in the series to feature a super meter bar. The game director has noted that the new special move button is a "rescue button for beginners."

An interview with IGN also revealed a number of other new mechanics. There will be a side attack, break gauge, fatal stun, and more included.

IGN also recently released a YouTube video that showcases some gameplay for the upcoming fighter. There's nearly 13 minutes of footage shown while an interview is being conducted.

The returning characters so far are Kasumi, Hayabusa, Jann Lee, Zack, Hayate and Helena. There also appears to be a newcomer to the series. Dead or Alive 6 will be releasing in early 2019.
