Zaid Tabani made the intros for EVO in years past; now he's back with a new remix for Cody's theme in Street Fighter 5 that's pretty sweet

Turn the beat back to 2010

Cody released as the latest character for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition only a few weeks ago and brought with him a new take on his classic theme, but now someone is here with a new take on that new take.

Zaid Tabani — aka RedRapper — made the EVO 2k10 Finals intros with raps for Super Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Melty Blood, Tekken 6, Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and now he's back again with a new Street Fighter song.

Eight years after remixing Cody's theme for his EVO video, Tabani made a new remix of Cody's theme from Street Fighter 5 with lyrics rapped over the beat which are very fitting with the current mayor of Metro City's changes since his last appearance.

The first half of the video is somewhat of a mirror of his original EVO skit including the same guy from the first to berate and question Zaid. This new skit is used to lightheartedly explain what he's been doing the past few years, as the other guy in the skit "though he was dead" after getting mixed up in the 'Mexican drug cartel'.

This new music video, skit and remix comes alongside the announcement of Tabani's new album, Ranbat, which will features the likes of Gootecks, SherryJenix, James Chen, Mike Watson, Viscious and many more. The new album will be available starting July 27th.

The composer behind Cody, Zeku and Ed's themes recently talked about how he went about creating their Street Fighter 5 themes and his inspirations. You can check out Zaid's new remix after the jump along with his original EVO video if you're feeling nostalgic, but be warned there is NSFW language in the new video

Song starts at 3:30
