Dragon Ball FighterZ has been one of the break out hits of 2018 selling over 2 million copies in its first two weeks on store shelves, and it looks like Bandai Namco is looking to keep that momentum going for its latest fighting game.

The developer and publisher announced that it will be holding a special live streamed event for Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for the "Dragon Ball Game Festival 2018" in Japan on July 29th. New information regarding the two Dragon Ball titles is set to be revealed during the event, but we'll need to wait to find out more.

A special regional tournament will also be held during the live stream with some of Japan's best professional players leading teams in Dragon Ball FighterZ with CO|Go1 leading Team Kansai, GGP|Kazunoko leads Team Kanto, Kubo leads Team Tokai and Masayan as the leader of the 'Special Team'.

The last announcements we received in regards to the new fighter was the reveal of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour circuit with its first stop at CEO 2018 and dishing out Dragon Balls to the winners, and Switch release date and details for DBFZ.

Given the timing of the announcement, we are likely to learn more about any new features the Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ has to offer along with new information regarding who the next DLC characters will be.

Fused Zamasu and Super Saiyan Blue Vegito were the most recent batch of DLC dropped for the title on May 31st giving almost two-months in between character announcements, so we should be due for new information very soon though we have a good idea of who will likely come next.

Leaks and data-mining from earlier in the year suggest that base form Goku and Vegeta along with Cooler and Android 17 are the four remaining DLC characters after Bardock, Broly, Zamasu and Vegito, who are already available.

Given their popularity in the series' country of origin, it would not be surprising to see the base Goku and Vegeta characters announced next at or prior to the Dragon Ball Game Festival at the end of the month.

The live stream will be available to watch on OpenRec, NicoNico Live and Twitch. Time announcements and specific stream links will coming in the next few days.
