A few characters have a very difficult time competing at high levels in Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition. In this episode of the EventHubs Podcast, we examine who these fighters are and why they have such a difficult time holding the line.

Velociraptor and I specifically call out Ryu, Alex, Zangief and Vega not being worth the time investment, because they fall outside of the viability range in this game.

Players have a habit of sometimes blaming themselves, saying "it's not you, it's me," when in reality, they've created a situation with the wrong character choice that's very difficult to overcome.

You might be wondering what the difference is from a character in our proverbial "crap" tier, to someone we think is low tier but still viable — and how to spot the distinction on your own. We recommend in the pod following top players on Twitter who's opinions you trust, along with reading articles and watching videos to discovering tech to help make sense of things.

We also touch on Capcom doing ninja edits to the game, and how it should be a standard operating procedure that these changes are communicated clearly before the patch drops, not leaving it up to players to stealth discover later on that several moves may have been altered.

Finally, we close this out with our ELEAGUE predictions on who we feel will take the first round of matches this Friday. This is the EventHubs Podcast episode 8.

00:00 - What makes the low tiers so bad?
13:30 - Why Capcom should be telling us about ninja edit buffs/nerfs
