There may be giant characters coming to Extra Battle Mode in Street Fighter 5
X-Kira discovers Shadow Nash, Golden Soldier battles and the potential for massive boss characters
Fee-fi-fo-clichés, our old data mining friend X-Kira has found a few interesting might-be's in the new Extra Battle Mode in Street Fighter 5.
The big one here is surely the possibility of giant characters, as X-Kira has included footage of Juri taking on an overgrown Peter from the game's Cinematic Story Mode, and notes in his video description, "In this type of battle any NPC can become Giant..."
This isn't a confirmation that we'll actually end up seeing giant characters in EB, (though the 'Defeat the Giant' header is some convincing evidence) but rather that it's a possibility. Furthermore, if we do indeed see them, the battle probably won't look much like the one here that sees Juri able to perform regular throws and such on her massive opponent.
This idea does make sense from a creative standpoint to keep things fresh, as giant bosses have long been interest-grabbing additions to single player modes in fighting games.
X-Kira also shows off some footage of Shadow, an upgraded form of Nash similar to the Shin Akuma that currently sits as the Extra Battle boss to beat. We should mention, though, Shadow makes Shin Akuma look like a cake walk.
Finally, we get some footage of the Golden Shadaloo Soldier fight (yes, the one that's been postponed) as well. Here a few screen grabs from each fight, with the videos awaiting below:
