Capcom has released their Street Fighter CFN popularity poll results
Sakura, Cody, Sagat, and Blanka spotted in the top ten part of the list
Back in October, Capcom created a character popularity poll on the CFN. It was announced that the results wouldn't be revealed until January 16, 2018 -- that's today!
As promised, the results of this poll is now available to the public. Some interesting things have been revealed as a result of this. It has been noted that there were over 150,000 votes submitted.
Much to our surprise, Ryu did not secure the number one spot despite being the most played fighter in Street Fighter 5. In fact, he secured 9th place. Combatants like Akuma and Chun-Li were seen in higher positions.
The winner of the poll is Sakura. Coincidentally, she is being released as Season 3's first DLC character. She is available right now.
All the other characters that are in the top ten are currently in the game or are scheduled to join later -- with the exception of Makoto and Q (unless that's G's identity). It's possible we may see them later as a result.
Meanwhile, Sakura, Cody, Sagat, and even Blanka are present and accounted for in terms of top ten favorite characters from the Street Fighter franchise. It seems Capcom had a pretty good idea which combatants would appeal the most to the fanbase for Season 3...
