Du "Liquid|NuckleDu" Dang may not be representing Team Liquid going forward. According to one of the Street Fighter 5 player's recent tweets, he is now a free agent.

Dang noted yesterday that his contract with Liquid has expired, and though he is considering renewing, he is also open to new offers.

"My contract with Team Liquid has expired," Du said. "I've loved my time on TL, and I'm considering renewing my contract, but I’m also looking at new opportunities."

In 2014, NuckleDu joined Team Curse. The following year, the organization merged with Team Liquid, which added Du to the company's roster.

NuckleDu is often revered as one of the best Street Fighter 5 players on the scene today. With numerous big wins under his belt, including the 2016 Capcom Cup championship, his Guile and R. Mika play is among the best of the best.

Though winning Capcom Cup gave him an auto-qualifying spot for this past year's event, NuckleDu dropped out shortly before the finals in December. Due to Capcom Cup's Rules of Succession, EG|Ricki Ortiz -- 2016's Capcom Cup runner-up -- took Du's place.

There are several strong eSports organizations around today that would likely see adding NuckleDu to their roster as a potential prospect.

Teams such as Echo Fox, Razer, and Red Bull are just some who might be able to scoop him up, and though they have announced no plans to do so, perhaps Mad Catz's return could involve them jumping back into the game of sponsoring professional players.

It will be interesting to see if NuckleDu will be representing a new team in the new year.
