SonicFox won Winter Brawl 12's Injustice 2 event with Michelangelo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after their release two weeks ago

Any doubt about the viability of Michelangelo's damage and mix-ups may have been dispelled

Winter Brawl 12 is currently an on going tournament that will be concluding all of its events later today. Injustice 2 has already completed its bracket.

There were a number of notable players present, such as FOX|Theo, PG|Coach Steve, FOX|Scar, and more. In the end, it was FOX|SonicFox that was able to prevail and win it all.

Interestingly enough, SonicFox made extensive use of Michelangelo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles throughout the entire tournament. Remember that the Ninja Turtles only became playable in Injustice 2 back in February 13th.

All four of the turtles have differences in their movesets. Many have pointed to Leonardo as being the best of them. It was often said that Michelangelo just didn't have enough damage or that his mix-ups were too unsafe.

SonicFox has proven Michelangelo's naysayers wrong. He was able to make the character work in an amazingly short amount of time.

Mikey's damage output and corner carry are very impressive. Take a look at what happened from a single whiff punish:

Apparently Mikey has quite a gimmick while the opponent is in the corner. He can create a cross-up with his trait.

This can be easily blocked by simply holding down rather than down and back as it will block on both sides. Cross-up mix-ups only exist in Injustice 2 if the attack is an overhead.

With that said, Michelangelo does have a overhead option from his trait that must be considered. Knowing how to block the gimmick is easier said than done in high stakes situations.

Also, take note of how quickly the trait finishes its cooldown period:

All four of the turtles share a special called "Turtling." Once this state is enacted, your playable character will then absorb a projectile.

If the opponent attempts to zone you out, you'll gain meter for each hit absorbed. This will force the opponent to approach into a space that is ideal for Mikey.

As you might expect from Michelangelo, his pressure and OKI options are very good. This is essentially a perfect fighter for SonicFox.

Finally, Mikey's methods of keeping the opponent guessing can allow a player like SonicFox to really get into the head of opponents.
