Canadian Dragon Ball FighterZ player cracks top eight in local tournament using a Rock Band keyboard

Play us a combo, you're the piano man

Sorry Hitbox players, you're not the coolest and most forward thinking fighting gamers around anymore.

Meet Gregory Chow, a Canadian Dragon Ball FighterZ player who doesn't use a conventional controller when he plays. Greg has decided to avoid the whole stick vs. pad debate entirely and has chosen to use a Rock Band 3 keyboard as his weapon of choice for DBF matches.

TorontoJoe of Even Matchup Gaming tweeted an image from yesterday's Revenge of the 6ix tournament in Ontario highlighting the rock-fighter in action.

At first glance, we figured this was probably just a gimmicky call for attention by a non-serious competitor, but looking at the 27-player bracket and seeing that the keyboard hero won no less than five matches in his top eight run, our interests were piqued.

Sure enough, Even Match Up had footage of some of Greg's bouts, proving his keyboard combos to be legitimate (there's a joke somewhere in here about piano notation).

We've included one such video after the jump below, and you can see the entire image of Greg in all his keyboard fighting glory right here:

You can catch Greg and the rest of the Ontario crew at their next DBF event on March 17th.
