Here's Daigo's Season 4 Ryu tearing up Street Fighter 5 online

But is he good enough for tournament play?

Many player to character questions are floating about the Street Fighter 5 realm right now as the new Season 4 balance changes have shaken things up quite a bit.

There are a handful of characters, some iconic and some not so much, that have been deemed unfit for tournament play because they are just too weak to get the job done with any sense of consistency.

Street Fighter's poster boy, Ryu, is strangely one of those characters despite being easily the most popular and recognizable roster member. The tireless wanderer has long been played by CYG|Daigo Umehara, but the legendary player himself even deemed Ryu unfit for combat earlier in 2018.

After a receiving a healthy list of decent buffs, Ryu may be back at a point of competitive validity... and Daigo is giving his old friend a new shot. The BEAST has compiled a good 10 minutes of game play footage featuring this iconic pair.

Indeed we also recently saw RB|Bonchan playing Sagat, exploring the one-eyed fighter in his new updated iteration. Of course, we'll have to wait for the tournament season to begin to see if these players actually bust these characters out when the money is on the line.
