Only 950 Fight Money available for Street Fighter 5 weekly missions, Extra Battle opportunities reduced from three to one

The times they are a changin', and it seems as though Capcom has yet again reduced the amount of Fight Money players can gain on a weekly basis if today's rollout is any indicator.

When missions first kicked off a few years ago players could earn somewhere in the ballpark of 6,500 FM each week for hitting goals like performing 10 combos, entering Training Mode and things of the like.

About a year ago the Fight Money output was reduced by about half, though new Shadaloo Soldier Extra Battle opportunities would pop up every few weeks. These Extra Battles were usually difficult but manageable fights against the computer that cost a certain amount of FM to attempt.

Players would usually get up to three attempts at these special battles, netting a profit of a few thousand in-game bucks for each successful go. This week's Extra Battle costs 500 FM, rewards 2,500 FM if completed and can only be tried a single time.

The weekly missions add up to a total of 950 FM, meaning you'll only be able to acquire 2,950 FM for doing everything this time around. Capcom did recently implement another way to earn FM thanks to in-game advertising, but this offers a mere eight additional FM per online bout.

This restricted approach to in-game currency comes just after Capcom's announcement that they have no plans for a Season Pass in 2019, as well as their statement from Kage's release that they'll be "doing things differently this year."
