We knew Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was more than likely going to set records, but we didn't realize it'd be doing so this rapidly.

According to Nintendo of America's Twitter account, Smash Ultimate has already become the fastest-selling title in franchise history with more than three million units sold in the first 11 days of the game's life.

They simultaneously announced that the Nintendo Switch has become the fastest-selling console of the current generation with over 8.7 million Switches sold since its March 2017 debut.

Based on the following statement from Nintendo, we infer that this is apparently without taking into account the number of consoles sold after Smash Ultimate's December 7th release.

"This performance should receive an additional boost from the December release of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game, which has become not only the fastest-selling Nintendo Switch game of all time, but also the fastest-selling game in the Super Smash Bros. series."
