Liu Kang and Sub-Zero claimed to be in Mortal Kombat 11 by Best Buy pre-order page

It was only just recently that Netherrealm Studios announced Mortal Kombat 11 at the Video Game Awards show. We saw a battle take place between Dark Raiden and Scorpion. The end result was of course a fatality on the loser.

Outside of those two, we also got a quick glimpse at some mysterious newcomer. Shao Kahn will apparently be returning as a pre-order bonus.

Who else will be available as playable fighters? According to a Best Buy listing, Liu Kang and Sub-Zero are also part of the roster. "A packed roster of legends and contenders, including Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, and Raiden, go head to head in this fight for the future of the realms," is stated in the description for Mortal Kombat 11.

Of course, there's no guarantee that Best Buy knows for sure that these two will be performing fatalities on opponents in the upcoming game. Predicting that these two iconic Mortal Kombat characters will be playable is a fairly safe bet.

While Liu Kang was not playable in Deadly Alliance due to the events of the story, both are extremely popular among fans. These tend to be some of the first characters one thinks of when Mortal Kombat is the subject — along with Raiden and Scorpion.

Rumors also appear to be circulating from Todd McFarlane — the creator of Spawn — that Spawn may be on his way to Mortal Kombat 11. 'Tis the season for rumors and speculation it seems. Official information on some of this may surface during the January 17th community reveal event.
