Video game manuals have largely fallen by the wayside in recent years due to the rise of digital gaming and online content — plus publishers looking to cut down on paper and plastic for their packaging, but there are still a section of players that miss the days of physical instruction booklets featuring helpful info and tips.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be the first game in the almost 20-year-old franchise to not feature a physical instruction manual despite so many characters, stages and modes being present in the new title, so one fan decided to make their own.

Reddit user OharaLibrarianArtur recently published a 52-page fan-made booklet for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which looks like a piece of media Nintendo would actually release with the way the pages are set up plus the various quotes and text used throughout it.

This new manual features a number of tricks for new and intermediate players looking to learn more about the massive fighter's mechanics from normal and special attacks to how things like rage and staling works in Smash Ultimate.

New fighters in Ultimate, like Ridley, King K. Rool, Incineroar and Isabelle, even received their own character breakdowns going over all of their special abilities and their properties while every playable character is given a bio with a screenshot of the series they originally hailed from.

Due to the large amount of black used on the pages, this current version of the manual is not very printer friendly, but it is perfect for those looking to have something available on their phones or tablets. We've collected a handful of the pages if you wish to get a taste of nostalgia from a new game in the gallery below.
