Combofiend is playing Street Fighter 5 competitively again and his Cody is looking amazing

Will he be making a splash at SoCal Regionals?

Some years back the fighting game community was treated to regular tournament appearances by one particularly skilled competitor who made it a habit to style and entertain just about every time he hit the sticks.

That competitor was the famous Peter "Combofiend" Rosas, known particularly for his Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter 4 play. Once Rosas landed a job with Capcom and began helping create and develop the games he became known for winning at, it was seldom we got to see him participate in competition.

Though Rosas left Capcom about a year ago we still haven't seen too much of him in the public eye of the fighting game community, but fans will be happy to hear he made a surprise appearance at a recent Super Offline Battles event at Super Arcade.

It was here that he showed he's been practicing with the new Season 3 characters of Street Fighter 5 as he pitted his Cody up against SherryJenix for a stream bout. Word on the street is that he's been attending locals in SoCal for a little while now and is preparing to make a run at SoCal Regionals in two weeks.

We now wait in great anticipation to see if that does indeed come to fruition. Perhaps the storied player will be able to put Mr. Travers in an all new spotlight as the character is widely seen as having decent potential.

We've got a quick clip of Combofiend's Cody, which is actually looking to be in great form, here thanks to HiFight. You can view the full set by heading over to Super Arcade's Twitch archive.
