Dum-est characters in Street Fighter 5: Who causes us the most salt and frustration from the selection screen on wards - EventHubs Podcast

There are dumb characters in fighting games — and then there are "dum" characters. In today's episode of the EventHubs Podcast, we're discussing the latter.

We bring in special guest, Steven "DreamKing" Chavez, to show how many of the behind the scenes sessions and discussions we have afterwards can devolve into name calling and accusations, but point out that there's actually a method to this madness — in trying to level up.

All three members of the pod run down their list of dum characters, and why these fighters are so frustrating to face in sets. There's a lot of back and forth discussion, and some accusations fly, but we also cover tech and things to look out for when you run into these matches.

You might be wondering why we're going at it, and having this intense of a discussion. Ultimately, we want to help see our blind spots a little more clearly, as registering things for less of what you think they are, and more of how they actually exist is a key to understanding and unpacking information.

We all have biases and things that may not align with how a neutral person may perceive things, but as journalists, it's important that we challenge our perceptions and try to be as objective as possible when offering analysis, and that's a big part of the reason for today's pod.

This ends up being one of our longer discussions, as the team really gets into matters and goes back and forth on the ins and outs of why we think some certain characters take a bit less thought to play than others.
