If you tuned in to watch the EVO 2018 Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition finals this past Sunday night, you probably caught Capcom's big announcements before the start of the top 8.

Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono took to the main stage with his trademark Blanka doll in hand to bring us a look at the game's latest content. Despite pictures on Ono's Twitter leading up to the reveal making us think that he would come out dressed as the new Street Fighter 5 character — which is something he has been known for doing in the past — it was actually someone else who donned the outfit and appeared on stage with Ono.

We now know that the man in the G costume was actually Christopher Smith, who happens to be the actual English voice actor for G in Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition.

During the presentation, Smith actually delivered the same speech that G can perform in game by pressing down, down + two kicks and holding them. This maneuver actually builds EX meter for G, but is incredibly risky to go for as it leave him open to an attack.

This isn't actually the first time Smith has worked in voice acting for the Street Fighter series. Apparently, he was also the English voice for Rufus back in Street Fighter 4.

Now with G available in Street Fighter 5, Smith has a special message for fans. If you want to harness the power of the people, be sure to download the character on PlayStation 4 and PC.
