Today is the final day of EVO 2018 where five games receive the top spot on the mainstage in Las Vegas, Nevada which also now comes with new announcements for the titles being played at the event.

Before the start of Super Smash Bros. Melee grand finals at EVO 2018, Nintendo announced a new Nintendo Direct stream would be coming for the new Smash Bros. title very soon.

A Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct will be held on August 8th at 7 a.m. PDT, 10 a.m. EDT, 11 p.m. JST, 4 p.m. CST and 3 p.m. BST.

The new stream will feature "new game information delivered by director Masahiro Sakurai" according to NintendoVS' announcement on Twitter.

No other details have been announced as of this time, but there will likely be more characters announced on Wednesday since we've known about a rumor / leak that suggests that there are still "at least a half dozen" characters yet to be announced for Smash Ultimate's already massive roster.
