Justfog channels the spirit of Daigo Umehara to take down Dhalsim with Ryu in Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition

A satisfying conclusion

Since the dawn of Street Fighter 2 and Dhalsim, players have always wanted to punish his long-limbed strikes for maximum hype and one of the most satisfying ways to take down an opponent in all of fighting games.

The beast himself, Daigo Umehara, has proved himself time and time again to be a master of reading his opponent, reacting to their moves and having the execution necessary to punish what was thrown at him from those first two leading to events like EVO moment 37.

Korean Grand Master Ryu player and streamer Justfog was able to channel Daigo's Shoto spirit and finish off Dhalsim from nearly a full screen away.

In the clip below, Justfog's Ryu faces a large life deficit against a Super Diamond ranked Dhalsim player online where one more attack landing would spell the end for him, but instead he manages to parry one of Dhalsim's punches, punish it with a Shoryuken and finish him with a Critical Art from distance.

This situation also takes me back to Mike Ross's bet with Gootecks on Excellent Adventures when they tried to Flash Kick Dhalsim's limbs (NSFW language) which is always good for some laughs.

You can check out Justfog's comeback in the clip below and see Daigo punish Arturo Sanchez's Dhalsim from full screen in Street Fighter 4 after the jump.
