Fighting EX Layer is a 2.5D fighting game set to release later this year. From the minds that brought us the Street Fighter EX series, numerous fan favorites from those games are back to slug it out once again.

Arika, who is developing FEXL, recently posted a Q&A with the company's founder and legendary game designer Akira Nishitani on their Facebook page. In it, Nishitani provides a bevy of details about the upcoming fighting title.

Fighting EX Layer is set for release sometime before the end of June, Nishitani says. It will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive and will only be available in digital form for the time being.

Those looking to purchase can do so with one of two options: the Standard version and the Light. The former will run you $59.99 and will come with 12 characters + Hokuto and 15 Gougi Decks.

The Light version has a price tag of $39.99 and includes 12 characters and 5 Gougi Decks.

Arika is planning to launch the game with 13 playable characters. If the game sells well, we could potentially see more added to the roster as DLC.

Kairi, Shirase, Garuda, Skullomania, Darun Mister, Doctrine Dark, Blaire Dame, Jack, Shadowgeist, Sanane, Hayate, and Hokuto will all be playable, however.

To read through the full Q&A, you can head over to Arika's Facebook. The company also put out a video showcasing some of the recent developments and progress of Fighting EX Layer, which you can see below.
