Dragon Ball FighterZ virtual fighter cards highlight character stats, style and strengths
Check out the first three featuring Goku, Frieza and Vegeta
As we charge toward Dragon Ball FighterZ's February 2018 release date, Bandai Namco is releasing virtual character cards, giving each of the game's fighters a special moment in the spotlight.
We've seen similar marketing strategies as the early days of Street Fighter 5 brought with them cards that attempted to flesh out characters' personalities a bit.
At this point in time we have cards for three of the Dragon Ball universe's most iconic characters: Goku, Vegeta and Frieza.
Goku's card, for instance, describes him as having an "all-rounder" fight style with decent power, energy, technique and reach statistics. He does seem a little on the slow side, so perhaps that's his main weakness as a character.
We'll see just how directly these virtual cards reflect the actual play for these fighters, as it can be very hard to predict how fighting game characters will evolve once the masses get their hands on them. At the very least, we'll have some fun "collecting" as we await DBF's release.
Please let us know who you're most excited to play as, and who you hope to see announced in the future as the game's roster slowly but surely comes to light over the next few months.
