PC modders showcase what new Critical Arts could look like in Street Fighter 5
Necalli ground pound super actually makes a lot of sense
The fighting game community has been widely discussing the prospect of adding new V-Moves and Critical Arts to Street Fighter 5. This resurgence of the topic kicked off after X-Kira's reported discoveries in the game's files.
Adding four new, select-able moves to each character could greatly increase Street Fighter 5's depth, and because of this people seem fairly excited by the idea.
The team behind the "Mysterious Mod" -- a PC mod that revamps combos and move lists in Street Fighter 5 to make them more dynamic -- put together some new Critical Art ideas for most of the characters. These concepts are brought to life in-game and we have the footage courtesy of killbox101.
There are some interesting super moves here, including a large ground pound sequence for Necalli, Ryu's Shin Shoryuken, and more. There are several here that seem to make sense for the character, essentially giving them a tool they may not have at the moment.
These Critical Arts are generated using already existing animations and assets, however that to doesn't take too much away from them as the ideas themselves are quite cool.
If Capcom does go the route of adding new supers to Street Fighter 5, the possibilities of what we might see are limitless. What kind of new Critical Arts would you like to see? Let us know in the comments below.
