An open beta test for Dragon Ball FighterZ is inbound, Bandai Namco announced today. Players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be able to participate in the upcoming beta, however, details on when we can expect to see the test go live have not yet been divulged.

According to GameSpot, those who pre-order a digital copy of the game on either console will gain access to the beta. Pre-ording a physical copy of Dragon Ball FighterZ, unfortunately, will not grant you entry to the beta.

With Dragon Ball FighterZ set for release on January 26, 2018, the upcoming beta should be coming fairly soon. We'll have to wait for Bandai Namco to share start time and date information.

Back in September, the company ran a closed beta test for Dragon Ball FighterZ. Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Krillin, Piccolo, Cell, Frieza, Majin Buu, Android 16, and Android 18 were all playable in the initial beta build.

Just yesterday, it was revealed that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be receiving eight DLC characters. Players can purchase the character pass for $34.99, which includes the aforementioned eight warriors -- each of which coming with their respective in-game stamp, lobby avatars, and alternate colors.

Dragon Ball FighterZ will see an official release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
