Avid data miner claims that we'll see four legacy characters and two brand new in Street Fighter 5 Season 3

Amidst all of the hype for Street Fighter 5 Season 2's newest character, Zeku, it seems some potential information about Season 3 has surfaced.

According to avid data miner in the fighting game community, X-Kira, Street Fighter 5's Season 3 roster will consist of four legacy characters and two new fighters. This means we could be seeing four fan-favorites from past games, and two fresh faces (like a Menat or a Zeku from Season 2) join the fray come 2018.

As we see in X-Kira's tweet, a legacy and new character are first in line for Season 3's DLC. Two more legacy fighters sit in the middle, with a new and legacy closing out the season.

Naturally, this is not a confirmation of what's to come, so take what you're seeing here with a grain of salt. Still, it should be noted that X-Kira has been accurate about plenty in the past, with his most recent example being the clarification of how Zeku's young and old versions work in-game before it was officially known.

Though X-Kira doesn't list the identities of Season 3's DLC fighters, we have heard rumors that could point us in the direction of who to expect for a handful of the character slots.

For starters, it seems that there have been several hints steering towards Sagat's inclusion on the playable roster. When Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition -- an update to the game that adds new modes, a second V-Trigger for the entire roster, and more -- was initially announced earlier this month, we saw a couple of potential references to Sagat including an Arcade Mode ending artwork piece that blatantly features the classic Street Fighter 2 character.

On top of that, EventHubs user Flowtron claimed that both Sagat and Sakura are locks for Season 3 back in July. They went on to say that Oro, Q, and Necro from Street Fighter 3, as well as Street Fighter 4's C. Viper -- all characters fans were expecting to be added next year -- will not be joining the cast in Season 3.

While it's hard to take rumors like this as fact, it is worth noting that Flowtron correctly predicted all six of Season 2's DLC fighters, replete with details of Abigail's immense size and Ed's aesthetic changes.

Last year, we saw Street Fighter 5's second season begin in December. With Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition set for release on January 16th, 2018, it is likely that we'll see the start of Season 3 around the same time.

We won't have confirmation until we're closer to Season 3's launch, but be sure to stay tuned here at EventHubs for the latest Street Fighter 5 updates.
