Fuudo's surprising loss, Sako's bold stare down, upsets left and right and Tokido's... tape measure? What's going on at TWFighter Major?

Capcom Pro Tour Premier event jam packed with surprises, and all before top 32

TWFighter Major isn't even through top 32 yet, but it already may qualify as one of the most unpredictable events we've seen all year long. Spoilers ahead.

Already we've seen some pretty notable highlights, but perhaps the biggest of these is not from gameplay, but bracket progression instead.

A handful of top eight-quality players suffered losses in the pool phase of the even, including CO|Go1, FOX|Tokido, FOX|Momochi, Poongko and Humanbomb.

What's even more surprising though, is that RZR|Infiltration, DNG|Itabashi Zangief, DNG|Tachikawa, PandaTV|Jiewa, BOL|Reiketsu and GRPT|Fuudo did not even make it out of their pools.

The moment everyone is talking about right now actually doesn't even feature gameplay, as EVO champion FOX|Tokido brought with him a tape measure with which he used to gauge the distance between his head and the monitor in front of him.

We're assuming this was for the sake of avoiding eye damage, (an incredibly smart and practical practice for someone who spends as much time as he does in front of monitors) but seeing The Murderface essentially play Pinocchio with a tape measure on stream was understandably too much for the FGC to handle.

This next series of highlights does indeed feature gameplay, as we see Fuudo land a slick set up into Critical Art against Talon|Hotdog29. Despite this, Hotdog would muster up enough grit to not only keep going, but knock Fuudo into the losers bracket:

No matter how many times we see Urien Aegis mix ups, it seems innovative players like RB are still able to wow us with something flashy and new:

How do you deal with Menat's orb? Scarz|Sako simply stares down his foe from full screen away, completely content with doing absolutely nothing:

Next up we have an exchange of hype comebacks between AlexNation|Gunfight and Kichipa-mu:

Here are the final moments of Fuudo's tournament run thanks to the very impressive Kagami. The crowd reaction of a few select Fuudo fans at the end is pretty funny:

Laura beating up Ryu like this should be considering heartless bullying and met with the maximum possible punishment. However we will admit that Brook|WildTaiwanese's comeback on Sandbag was pretty hype:

Finally we leave you with YBK|Daikokugo's disgusting Critical Art with Birdie:
