So, Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is a real thing, and it's set for release on January 16th, 2018.

We'll be seeing new modes such as the long-awaited Arcade Mode, an Extra Battle option, a revamped UI, and more. SF5 AE is gearing up to be a large release for Capcom, and to commemorate the game's announcement Street Fighter series Executive Producer Yoshinori Ono released a special message to fans.

Ono speaks about the initial release of Street Fighter 5 and how it wasn't quite ideal. He appreciates those who have stuck with the game regardless, and goes on to explain what is in store for the January release.

By the end of the year, we'll be seeing 28 playable characters on Street Fighter 5's roster. On top of that, we've seen tons of stages, costumes, and new modes added over the past two years.

In addition to everything we've seen from Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition this morning, Ono says there are still new modes and features in the works for the game that will be available at launch. We'll have to stay tuned for more information.

Above all else, Ono's message includes a big thank you to the fans who have supported Street Fighter 5 and the franchise itself over the last 30 years.

"The entire team at Capcom greatly appreciates your support, and we look forward to providing you with more exciting news for the fighting game community in the future," Ono concludes.
