Ricki Ortiz's bracket position at Capcom Cup 2017 revealed

Best of five sets all the way through and two streams for the event

Earlier this week, we heard about how Du "Liquid|NuckleDu" Dang is now confirmed to not be attending the Capcom Cup this year to defend his title. As a result of this, last year's runner up will be taking his guaranteed spot.

In other words, EG|Ricki Ortiz will be competing instead. This is good for her as she did not have enough points to otherwise qualify.

Still, this begs the question: will Ricki Ortiz's seeding be based on her points this year or is she taking NuckleDu's place in the bracket? This question was answered during the Wakeup Wednesday show.

Ricki Ortiz's seed will be based on her own points rather than NuckleDu's. This makes her seeding the 31st while the Last Chance Qualifier's seeding is automatically the 32nd seed (LCQ's points don't matter as it would throw off the bracket at the last minute).

It was also revealed that all the sets that will be played will be best 3/5 all the way through. The Capcom Cup will run two days at the Anaheim Hilton with the finals being on Sunday at the PlayStation Experience.

Finally, there will be two streams this year instead of one. Here is what the bracket looks like (note that a larger version is available to the side of each image):

Note that this bracket is not necessarily final. If there are additional dropouts, then it is still subject to change.

The last chance qualifier will be decided on December the 8th on Friday while the top 32 action will take place on the 9th. Spectating will be free on those two days.

Please note that the registration for the Last Chance Qualifiers ends tonight. The price to participate is $20.

The players that will be competing at the Last Chance Qualifiers include EG|NYChris G., Xiao Hai, SPY|Filipino Champ, EG|K-Brad, DR Ray, MOV, Gamerbee, Brian F., Mono, GRPT|Infiltration, WFX|XSK_Samurai, CYG|PR Balrog, Tempo|Alex Myers, AW|Nemo, JB, and LPN. This is an absolutely stacked tournament where only one of these players will advance into the Capcom Cup.

It was also revealed that Yoshinori Ono will be there too. It's likely we'll get a reveal of some sort...

As for Sunday when the finals take place, a badge will be required in order to attend and spectate the event. This will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center.
