The King of Fighters 14 is receiving a brand new character and stage, SNK has announced.

This new content is the result of a recent social media contest held by the company, in conjunction with Manga Productions, that prompted fans from the Middle East to design a character and stage to appear in the 3v3 fighting title. Over 300 entries were received from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and more, Gematsu reports.

Two designs were chosen, naturally, and the winners are as follows. The new character is a female fighter from Najd created by Mashael Al-Barrak of Saudi Arabia. As for the stage, we'll be seeing a modern day Masmak fort, courtesy of Zainab Al-Lawaty from Oman.

To select the winners, Manga Productions put together a committee that consisted of 10 staffers from SNK, including KOF14 producer Yasuyuki Oda, character designer Eisuke Ogura, art director Nobuyuki Kuroki, and three staff members from Manga Productions, including CEO Essam Bukhary and COO Amr Almaddah.

With 13 total members on the selection team, two winners were chosen on October 18th and were publicly announced at the Misk Global Forum in Saudi Arabia on November 16th.

At this time, a release date for this new content has not been divulged.

Just last week, SNK's latest financial report detailed a large increase in profits and sales for the company. We can only hope that their recent success means even more DLC for the game down the road.
