Huge wave of 'leaks' and rumors: Tons of Street Fighter 5, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and Dragon Ball FighterZ characters, Soul Calibur 6, and more

Let's take a look at what everyone has been talking about this week

If you've even glanced at social media in the fighting game community this week, chances are you heard talk of rumors and leaks about some of the big-name fighting titles. Today we're going to take a look at what the people have been discussing.

As always, it is worth mentioning that none of what you read here is confirmed or official word. This is merely the rumors and supposed leaks that have gotten a lot of attention recently.

Starting off with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, this week we've heard a ton of different character names dropped as possible additions to the roster down the road. Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Green Goblin, Wolverine, Cyclops, Psylocke, Magneto, Storm, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, Daredevil, Asura, Lady, Gill, Rashid, Captain Commando, Nina, Deis, Regina, Gene, Vergil, Akuma, and Apollo Justice are all of the characters listed.

This claim comes from Reddit user DasVergeben. who goes on to say that Marvel Infinite is getting a four player 2v2 mode -- where two players can join forces to control one character each on a team -- a free update next Summer that adds more characters, an update to the visuals, and much more that even the leaker says is a bit out there and doesn't entirely believe.

While this is almost impossible to take as fact, portions of these claims could potentially be valid. Maximilian put together a video that more closely examines the supposed leaks, and in it he notes that there are some aspects here that line up with what he's heard elsewhere.

"The part of this list that has me very intrigued is Star-Lord, Ms. Marvel, Asura, Gill, and Lady," Max starts.

"I don't think that all of this is substantial or true -- and I can't actually confirm whether or not any of this is going to be what's happening in season 2 -- but all I can tell you is that a very large majority of the season 2 'leaked characters' are coming from several different sources that I've been hearing over the past few months."

The most concrete thing we've seen regarding Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, however, is the potential first look at Venom and the full DLC character select screen.

DasVergeben's post also makes mention of what fans might be able to expect from Street Fighter 5 next year.

"Season 3 characters include Sagat, Sakura, Cody, Sodom, two newcomers (I heard two Final Fight newcomers from one source, but Roxy and a Shadaloo Doll from another)," the Reddit user says. "There will also be free characters added as part of the update, which are Crimson Viper, Q, Necro, and Oro."

They go on to say that there will be a color edit mode added to the game, that additional Critical Arts were supposed to be in at Season 3's launch, but are being withheld and more.

Avid data miner X-Kira took to Twitter to address these claims, saying that much of what's listed is untrue. X-Kira claims to have his own sources, and says that Sagat, Sakura, and a "Neo Shadaloo Girl" character will be in the game's next season.

People are entertaining the idea of DasVergeben's alleged leaks because of a recent claim that turned out to be true. A couple of weeks prior to the official reveal, this user predicted the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Enchantress for Injustice 2's Fighter Pack #3 -- the former being a reveal that no one saw coming.

DasVergeben's claims go on to share some of the identities of Dragon Ball FighterZ's upcoming DLC characters. Broly, Regular Goku (with access to the Spirit Bomb), Regular Vegeta, Bardock, Raditz, and Goku Black (in his Rose form) are listed, but they explain that whether the latter three are slated for the launch roster or DLC is unclear.

But perhaps the most interesting thing here is the mention of a Soul Calibur 6. According to DasVergeben, the announcement is expected at the PlayStation Experience next month and that there will be a release on PlayStation 4, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.

We have been hearing about a potential Soul Calibur 6 for quite a while now, and with the previous entry in the series having been released back in 2012, it feels like it's about time for a new title.

There's a lot more to each of these claims, and you can read everything by hitting the first link in this story. As with all rumors and supposed leaks, please be sure to take everything here with a large grain of salt.
