Whose accomplishments are greater in Injustice 2? SonicFox's quantity of 1st places or Dragon's big tournament wins like EVO?

Both players have a strong case to be the best

Every fighting game needs their share of professional players. Among these professionals, only one can truly say they are the best in the world.

FOX|SonicFox is a player that can make that claim for Injustice 2. In fact, his reign of domination is quite noteworthy from other games.

He made his appearance upon the scene towards the end of the first Injustice's lifespan. Throughout the course of Mortal Kombat X, he was basically the undisputed best.

Now onto Injustice 2, his been taking tournament after tournament. In terms of just the quantity of tournaments, his title is safe. But...

ALG|Dragon has achieved a number of accomplishments in Injustice 2 that not even SonicFox has. Big wins like EVO and Eleague are hard to contest.

Perhaps the best player in the world is the one who is able to succeed in the tournaments that have the most amount of pressure. If that's the case, then maybe it's Dragon who is currently the best in the world.

Let's take a look at each player's tournament wins so that we can get a better idea of who might be the greatest Injustice 2 player.

Dominique 'SonicFox' Mclean

• 1st - Next Level Battle Circuit v.87
• 1st - Injustice 2 Pro Series Grand Finals
• 1st - East Coast Throwdown 2017
• 1st - Absolute Battle 8
• 1st - Summer Jam XI
• 1st - Viennality 2017
• 1st - Defend the North 2017
• 5th - EVO 2017

It's also worth noting that SonicFox also participated in the Eleague but didn't make it to the finals event. He placed 3rd in Group A.

SonicFox's ability to consistency score first place at tournaments is nothing to scoff at. When everyone is gunning for him, this feat makes it look even more impressive.

Had he won EVO, Eleague, and the War of the Gods Finale in addition to all these other tournaments, his title of "best Injustice 2 player in the world" would be well cemented.

Ryan 'Dragon' Walker

• 1st - Eleague
• 1st - War of the Gods Finale
• 2nd - SoCal Regionals 2017
• 5th - Injustice 2 Pro Series Grand Finals
• 7th - East Coast Throwdown 2017
• 3rd - Absolute Battle 8
• 5th - Summer Jam XI
• 3rd - Viennality 2017
• 9th - Defend the North 2017
• 1st - EVO 2017

While Dragon lacks the sheer quantity of first placements at tournaments, he did win Eleague, the War of the Gods Finale, and EVO 2017. He certainly makes up for it with the quality of the events that he does win at.

Dragon has proven that he can have outstanding performances when the pressure is at its highest. Is that what makes a player the best at a game?

At this point, I think it's fair to say that he does have a claim to the title that would otherwise be free for SonicFox. He's accomplished a number of things that not even SonicFox has... yet.

So which of these professionals do you think is the best? Who is the greatest Injustice 2 player as of right now?

For me personally, I think I'd have to lean towards SonicFox. The number of tournaments he's won is quite ridiculous.

With that said, there's a strong case for Dragon at this point. I don't think I could overlook what Dragon has achieved -- if someone were to argue that he was the best, I wouldn't try to refute such a statement.
