Nintendo lists four new Amiibos for what are likely Super Smash Bros. Amiibos on the CPSIA Certificates of Compliance

So the last Super Smash Bros. 4 characters, Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta, have been out for over a year now. Despite this, we have not heard much news regarding the promised Amiibos.

For those of you seeking to complete your collections, it looks like you'll have the opportunity soon. Nintendo has filed four CPSIA for unknown Amiibos for Super Smash Bros. 4, despite us only missing three characters that we know about.

As one Reddit user has pointed out, we know these four Amiibos are for Super Smash Bros. because their item numbers have an "AA" in them, beyond the "NVL C" part. This is similar to how the other Smash Bros. Amiibos have had "AA" listed in their item numbers.

The Super Mario series Amiibos start with "AB" beyond "NVL C," Yoshi's Woolly World starts with a "YA," Zelda Breath of the Wild starts with "AK," etc. The Super Smash Bros. series likely starts with "AA" beyond that "NVL C" because its the first Nintendo series to feature Amiibo support.

So what does this actually mean? Well, for one, we are very likely to see Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta as three of those four Amiibos very soon.

But what about that fourth Amiibo? There are a few possibilities we should consider.

One possibility is that you'll be able to buy each of the Amiibos individually or in a pack of three like the three Mii Fighters or the Retro combo. This would be the first time you'd be able to purchase characters individually that also came in a three-pack of Amiibos, for Americans (with a certain exception of R.O.B.).

There is also a possibility that the fourth Amiibo is just an alternate costume of a character that already exists within Super Smash Bros. 4. This has only occurred for R.O.B. due to him having a Famicon colors version (for America, this was the only way to buy him outside of the Retro three-pack).

Speaking of the Amiibo three-packs for Super Smash Bros., we could start getting characters from these three packs individually for America. Currently, you can only get R.O.B. with grey colors, Duck Hunt, Mr. Game and Watch, Mii Brawler, Mii Swordsfighter, and Mii Gunner as part of a three-pack.

The final possibility that I can think of is the possibility that seems to have most people excited to hear this news. The possibility of a character that is new to Super Smash Bros. 4.

This could be a cut veteran character or a newcomer to the series. The cut veterans are Ice Climbers, Young Link (technically replaced by Toon Link), Pichu, Solid Snake, Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Wolf.

Since Bayonetta was stated outright that she was the last DLC character to be included for Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS and Wii U, this has fans speculating that we'll be seeing a Super Smash Bros. title for the Nintendo Switch at some point.

Below is GameXplain's take on the whole thing.

Finally, Amiibo nerds like me should be pleased (also, that fourth Amiibo is probably Female Corrin)

Possibly, but they've never done that for other characters before (Robin, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer).

I've been waiting for that Bayo amiibo for what feels like ages.

Maybe it's Random so collectors have the option to remake the character select screen IRL.

All 3 of these characters have alt costumes that could be the 4th (Advent Children Cloud, Original Bayonetta, and female Corrin). Interesting.

Watch it just be Female Corrin. They probably only did this because she proved way more popular than the Male one they already planned on making. But people will find any excuse they can to get their hopes up, I suppose.

So, nobody's gonna guess that the 4th "Amiibo" Is the 3 pack like the Retro pack years ago?

We did get something relating to this before, actually. During the second anniversary of Bayonetta 2, Platinum Games did tease the Bayonetta amiibo but that's really it and we haven't heard of it or the others since then.

Heh...I find it hillarious that some of the amiibos don't have their own stand alone game.

I'm more intrigued to see what the bayonetta one will unlock in bayonetta 2/1 for wii u :D

I say for the bayo amiibo we get to unlock some of the weapons that was in 1 but didn't make it to the 2nd game.

As for cloud amiibo...FF7 on switch?....HAH!
