King of Fighters 14 has secret command to unlock in-game frame information, here's how to do it and what it looks like

Updated: It has been brought to our attention that the King of Fighters 14 code does not activate frame data in the traditional sense. Instead, the numbers next to each input state how long a player holds down any given input. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Earlier: It's the early 90s and inputting cheat codes is alive and well! Just kidding, however, there is a secret command in King of Fighters 14 that unlocks in-game frame data.

The official SNK Facebook page unveiled the secret early this morning. If you perform a certain sequence of inputs at the main menu, you will be able to activate the frame information.

The code is as follows: down-left, right, down-right, down, down-left, left, down-right, LK + HP. This input is fairly strict, so if you hit any direction other than down-left to start, the code won't work properly.

Also, if you hit any buttons during the directional inputs, this code will fail. If you don't happen to succeed the first time, make sure to leave the main menu (simply be selecting any mode, then going back) and try again.

When done correctly, the screen will flash and you will hear a voice and some quick sound effects. Head into training mode after that and switch the input data on.

Every attack you perform will have a number next to it in real time. It should be noted that this will not carry over if you exit the game, so you'll have to perform the code each time you boot up a new session. The frame information can be seen in training mode and during replays.

Hit the jump to see the code being performed and the result.

Below is a quick GIF showing what the frame data display looks like.
