Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is set for release on September 19th, and though that date isn't too far away there's still much to learn about the upcoming crossover fighter.

Visiting the IMG Worlds of Adventure indoor amusement park in Dubai, Bahrain International TV managed to catch up with MvCI producers Mike Evans and Peter "Combofiend" Rosas while they were in attendance showing off the game.

With the amount of hype behind Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and the support of a large community, many are wondering if we'll see the upcoming fighter secure a spot on the Capcom Pro Tour. During the interview, Rosas notes that it will be too late in the year to join the 2017 tournament season, however, the game itself will definitely lend itself to being an eSports title.

"As for it being an eSport? Definitely," Combofiend stated. "This game has a passionate community behind it, it's the most accessible it's ever been, it has an amazingly strategic battle system, and it's ultimately the depth that keeps players playing.

"That's what defines a game that's popular in eSports. With [Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite] there's no shortage of that, and we definitely see [the game becoming an eSport] being an inevitability."
As for whether or not we'll be seeing Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite officially join the Capcom Pro Tour, we'll have to wait and see. Though Combofiend didn't say it out right here, it does seem likely based on his comments about eSports.

Be sure to check out the full interview to learn about how the characters' move sets were decided, current fan response, and more.
