'This is not just a video game, this is a lifestyle!' - HungryBox calls out 'a certain company' after big Smash 'N' Splash 3 win

Over the weekend, Juan "Liquid|HungryBox" Debiedma took home the gold at Smash 'N' Splash 3 -- a stacked Super Smash Bros. Melee event. Toppling some of the game's best competitors throughout his trek to first place -- and giving the world another epic pop off -- the champion had a lot to say in his post-win interview.

Shortly after winning grand finals, Hungrybox was handed the mic, on stage, to share his thoughts. "I'm going to say this straight up," HBox started. "Listen, we're not supposed to be this friendly, old eSports community. We came here from the gutter ourselves.

"We had no help from any person. We came here to ourselves and look at us, we're still having 1,500 people at a damn water park in Wisconsin."

Fired up from the big win, HungryBox went on to call out "a certain company" -- which is pretty obviously Nintendo -- for their lack of support for Smash's competitive scene.

His main message for Nintendo: Smash Bros. isn't just a video game, it's a lifestyle. Check out the clip below to see what HungryBox had to say on the matter.

HungryBox rounds out his speech by thanking the people who have made the community what it is today, and those who continue to help it grow.

Smash 'N' Splash 3 is HungryBox's first large-scale victory since EVO 2016. In order to claim the title this past weekend, the Jigglypuff main had to make his way through Melee titans such as TSM|Leffen, C9|Mango, and Alliance|Armada in top 8.
