Back in May, we learned that several of Marvel Comics' major comic book titles would be receiving special variant covers to commemorate the release of the upcoming crossover fighting title Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. A handful of these covers have surfaced, and one of them shows two characters we haven't seen announced in the game yet.

NeoGAF user Harpoon reportedly found covers for All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #7, Champions #11, Hawkeye #9, and Spider-Man/Deadpool #20. Each cover has two or more characters from the game engaging in battle, such as Gamora and Strider and Hawkeye vs. Dante.

The one that is most interesting, though, is Spider-Man/Deadpool. Neither character is featured on the variant, instead we see Dormammu and Firebrand.

Though both of these characters were playable in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 -- MvCI's predecessor -- neither has been revealed in the upcoming title. We do know, however, that Firebrand shows up on Ryce's character leak list. Dormammu, on the other hand, was not a part of the leak list.

Harpoon cites PreviewsWorld as the source for these covers. The first three covers can indeed be found on the site (at the time this was written), but the variant featuring Dormammu and Firebrand doesn't show up, which could mean it was pulled because of its potential leak.

Looking back at the list of comic book titles receiving the variant treatment, we see that all four are included. The list also features series like I Am Groot and Venom, which may be further hinting at potential playable characters that have yet to be revealed.

You can check out the covers below.
