Capcom: There will be a lot of updates over the next year people will be happy about - let's look at what Street Fighter 5 has coming down the pike
Last week, we learned that the Capcom Fighters Network will be seeing an update this Spring. Haunts assured fans that this is only the tip of the iceberg and that there's more to come.
“Don't wanna spill the beans on anything, but there will be a lot of updates over the next year people will be happy about. Sorry I can’t get into specifics -- I know these types of answers suck!
“Basically the dev team is always considering all types of modes and updates but nothing to share right now.”
In fact, we can expect new Street Fighter 5 Season 2 info roughly every other month, meaning at least six announcements throughout 2017. “Basically the dev team is always considering all types of modes and updates but nothing to share right now.”
So, what's still to come in Street Fighter 5 Season 2? Let's talk about that.
With the launch of Season 2, we received the first of six new DLC fighters. Akuma, the only returning face in this batch of characters, has been in the hands of the public for over a month now, and there are still five fresh faces on the way.
As of right now, we are unsure who these DLC fighters are, but we do know that they have never been playable in a Street Fighter game before.
We've seen much speculation about the identities of these characters, with people in the community actively trying to match up the silhouettes from the Season 2 promotional image. Earlier today, we saw another close match in Sunrise Nishisenba for the second character spot.
Nostalgia costumes / stage:
Revealed around EVO time last year, some may have forgotten about Street Fighter 5's upcoming nostalgia costumes and stage.
Fans were shown classic alternate costumes for Alex and Ibuki, returning them to Street Fighter 3 Third Strike glory. Additionally, we saw concept art for M. Bison's iconic Street Fighter 2 Thailand stage.
Ever since the announcement back in July 2016, there has been no word on the status of this content. Considering, however, that it's been over six months since the reveal, we can only hope we'll see them released this year.

As mentioned previously, a CFN update is inbound and scheduled to release sometime in Spring. Details about what kind of improvements to the feature we can expect to see are still unknown.
In addition to the aforementioned content, there are several changes that players hope to see soon. An input lag reduction, more stable servers, and even another balance patch before the start of the Pro Tour are just some of the potential updates Capcom could provide this year that would certainly appease fans.
