Capcom has released new information on Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers. This time, we learn more about its game modes and online options.

According to Gematsu, USF2's Arcade Mode will come equipped with a standby feature. This will allow players to open up their door to online battle requests while battling CPU opponents, then return to where they left off after the match is over.

Despite Street Fighter 2 seeing its original release over 20 years ago, Capcom still has some new things to toss into the mix. Players will be able to participate in local and ranked matches in Ultra Street Fighter 2, with the former taking advantage of the Nintendo Switch's wireless feature allowing you to connect with people nearby.

In ranked matches, players will compete for Player Points and Battle Points -- reminiscent of the Street Fighter 4 series. These points will allow players to look themselves up on the leaderboards, find their friends, or even their favorite competitors.

Ultra Street Fighter 2 will have four ranked match options. You can find the breakdown after the jump.

Ranked match types

Quick Match – Searches for players able to fight without setting any conditions.

Custom Match – Set conditions and search for a player that you want to fight against.

Create Match – Create a lobby where you set the battle rules and such, and wait for the players that you want to fight against to join.

Friend Match – Searches for players that you can fight against now from your registered friends list.

For now, Ultra Street Fighter 2 is a Nintendo Switch exclusive with a release date to be determined. If sales are strong, however, Street Fighter Executive Producer Yoshinori Ono says we may see it on other platforms.
