In a surprise turn of events, Capcom announced "Ultra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengers" for the Nintendo Switch last night. An new installment in the classic SF2 series that adds two new fighters: Evil Ryu and Violent Ken.

The official announcement trailer was released just this morning, and what we saw in it was pretty standard: gameplay footage, information about the upcoming title, etc.. However, two seconds of video were particularly peculiar.

If you watch closely around the 2:08 mark in the trailer, you'll spot a quick clip of Ryu throwing a fireball from a first-person angle. This footage looks nothing like Ultra Street Fighter 2 and has fans everywhere wondering what it could be.

You can check out stills of the clip below.

With the growing popularity of VR, that is the first place the mind jumps to when seeing a first-person Street Fighter.

What this could also be is some sort of special mode included with USF2 that is meant to utilize the Joy Con's motion controls. Nintendo is no stranger to developing games and modes that highlight features of their new consoles.

We even considered the possibility of this being something related to Super Street Fighter 4 3D Edition, but the Dynamic View only offers an over-the-shoulder angle and not first-person. You can see an example below.

In the clip, we see what appears to be a Shadaloo soldier from Street Fighter 5 getting blasted by Ryu's hadouken. What's strange, though, is that the graphics actually seem to resemble the Street Fighter 4 style more, as we can see with Ryu's arms and gloves.

As of right now, we are unsure what this mysterious clip is showing us. Let us know what you think it might be in the comments below.
