Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is set to add new game modes, an updated UI, and new V-Triggers to the already existing title. Alongside the much anticipated Arcade Mode -- the mode that likely prompted the name "Arcade Edition" -- we'll be seeing a Team Versus mode among the various battle options.

Team Versus pits you and up to five friends against another team with an equal amount of players in combat to see which squad, Red or Blue, emerges victorious. There are different team battle modes to choose from, including Elimination, which sees the winner stay on until the last player is standing, and the Best Of Series, a mode that matches each team member against their corresponding opponent until victory is decided by the highest number of wins.

Capcom TV held a live stream last week that showcased the recently revealed game mode in action.

The first portion of the video features Capcom Producer Tomoaki Ayano sharing a recap of the most recent announcements. We see slides containing information about Sakura, Season 3's first character, as well as some of the other content available in Arcade Edition.

About halfway into the showcase, the Capcom TV crew jumps into a team battle. A look at AE's character select screen is shown, and we are given a demonstration of another team battle.

Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition is due out on January 16th, 2018, and will include Team Versus at launch.

The video is entirely in Japanese, so if you'd like to jump straight to the Team Versus action, skip to about 00:11:30 in the video below.
