We've seen an announcement trailer, a gameplay trailer (with snippets of actual gameplay footage), and an interview with the game's producer that delved deeper into the development and how the game's mechanics work. This time, we get to enjoy two direct-feed matches of Soul Calibur 6, uninterrupted by commentary or edits.

GameSpot recently uploaded six minutes of footage showcasing the first unabridged gameplay we've seen of the latest installment in the weapons-based fighter.

Naturally, these two matches feature Sophitia and Mitsurugi -- the first two characters revealed.

Throughout the set, several of the game's mechanics are put on display. We see Guard Impact (which no longer requires meter to perform), Soul Charge, and the slowed down, dramatic camera angles adopted from Tekken 7.

Reversal Edge is also utilized here. This new feature allows players to perform a hard-hitting counter attack after successfully parrying the opponent.

Soul Calibur 6 is set for a 2018 release. There is still much to see of the latest in the series.
