Team Ninja is gearing up for an announcement this weekend -- could we see a new fighting game?
Development for Dead or Alive 5 has basically ended, right? Dead or Alive 6?
Team Ninja has noted that it will probably be worth it for people to stick around after the prizes given out at their Battle Royal 2017 Grand Finals event at NEC18.
They specifically state that an "announcement [will be made] once the prizes are given to the champions on Dec. 17th." What could this announcement be?
This is particularly interesting considering that Dead or Alive 5: Last Round's DLC is ending once the year is over. Development here has basically finished.
Considering that Dead or Alive 5 originally released back in 2012 (updated in 2013 and again in 2015), the timing might be good for the sixth installment. Could this be the announcement that Team Ninja is prepping for?
Interestingly enough, an image was also posted with the tweet. It's a black background that simply has text stating that "I'm a fighter."
This seems to hint, or outright state, that this announcement will be for a fighting game. It certainly wouldn't make too much sense to announce a Ninja Gaiden game after a fighting game tournament...
After the jump, you'll find the trailer to the last batch of costumes that will be released for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.
"Good luck to all the fighters that will be attending our Battle Royal 2017 Grand Finals event at NEC18. Make sure to stick around until the finals are over. There will be an announcement once the prizes are given to the champions on Dec. 17th. Stream info will be posted soon."
