Winter Soldier and Captain America have a team hyper in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, but what about others? Who has bonds that would allow for this?

X and Zero? Spider-Man and Venom? Avengers?

We witnessed something pretty cool in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite not too long ago. If Winter Soldier initiates his level 3 hyper combo with Captain America on his team, they perform a team-coordinated attack against the opponent.

This actually doesn't deal any extra damage. It's purely just an Easter Egg. This cinematic really highlights the friendship that exists between the Winter Soldier and Captain America.

Currently, these are the only two characters to have a sequence like this. It really gives them a unique personality.

Still, wouldn't it be really awesome if more characters had a chance to showcase their bond with another? Other relationships similar to these two do exist within Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Perhaps this is something Capcom could patch in later if fans really wanted it. So which of the fighters could this work for?

Let's take a look at some of the bonds that exist so far.

X and Zero

This one is certainly obvious. X and Zero have been through a lot together.

Zero was sort of a mentor to X in the first Mega Man X game as X was only a "B class hunter" while Zero is considered to be an "S class hunter." X ended up witnessing Zero's "death" which motivated him to take Sigma down.

Despite this, Zero would later be revived in Mega Man X2. From here, we really saw the friendship that developed between X and Zero.

There was very clearly a great deal of trust present here. It's actually similar to the friendship that Captain America has with Winter Soldier.

Ryu and Chun-Li

Ryu and Chun-Li are both characters that hail from the Street Fighter franchise. They've fought each other a number of times.

Both characters appear to have great respect for one another. It also helps that they are both very iconic characters of their series.

In most of the games that Ryu has appeared in, Chun-Li was also there. They probably don't have any sort of relationship, but know each other well enough as friends.

Being that they each know the other's fighting style well, they probably could work well together in a team attack. This was actually an important mechanic in Street Fighter X Tekken that allowed any two characters to work together during a team combination super.

Gamora and Rocket (and Groot)

"We're the Guardians of the Galaxy!" This is quite a memorable line from the movie "Guardians of the Galaxy."

Though we don't have Starlord (yet...), we do have Gamora and Rocket Raccoon. Groot is also a big part of Rocket's moveset.

This is a rare situation in which we could actually have three characters working together during a hyper combo despite it only being a 2v2 game. Rocket, Gamora, and Groot can work pretty well together.

The theme of the Guardians of the Galaxy heavily revolves around the concept of "family." It only makes sense that they would want to work together in special team hypers.

Spider-Man and Venom

These two have a very... interesting history. They've had times in which they were sworn enemies.

Despite this, the occurrence of these two teaming up isn't exactly a rare one. They might not want to admit it, but they do work really well together.

It would certainly be interesting to see a somewhat of an "uneasy" but plausible alliance between these two. I imagine the developers could have a lot of fun making their team hyper.

Their abilities are very similar and they know each other fairly well. Eddie Brock even knows the identity of Spider-Man thanks to the symbiotic suit.

Coordinating attacks between these two certainly wouldn't be an issue.

Ultron and Sigma

Capcom and Marvel characters don't really have that much of a history with one another (at least to the extent that they have with characters within their own IPs). Still, Ultron and Sigma have a rather unique situation.

During the story of the game, Ultron and Sigma fused together to become "Ultron Sigma" and later "Ultron Omega." This made them the final boss of the game.

Wouldn't it be cool if they temporarily did this for a team hyper? They could even make use of the Infinity Stone that the player has chosen.

This was a force that required both universes to team up in order to take down. Ultron Sigma came very close to destroying or assimilating everyone.

It would be cool to see a cameo involving this boss. The assets are already there, after all...

Any combination of Avengers

The Avengers is already a team of heroes. They work together all the time.

Honestly, any combination of Avengers could work together in a team-oriented attack. They do it all the time in the movies, comics, and other video games.

They know each other fairly well. Many of them even fought against other members of the team during the civil war era. Despite this, their relationships with one another haven't been completely destroyed.

Characters that are well-known for their involvement with the Avengers that are also currently in the game include Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Black Panther, Hulk, Thor, as well as a few others.

This... just makes sense. Avengers assemble!

Still, I think it's important that they don't go too crazy with this concept. I actually have a hard time seeing certain characters working this well together.

Chris Redfield and Nemesis, for example, probably not mesh well. The only thing I can picture is them trying to fight one anther while the opponent is constantly hit as collateral damage...

Dr. Strange and Dormammu working together would just be... well, strange. They don't really have a very positive relationship (despite this, it has actually happened before).
