A new installment in the Puzzle Fighter series has been announced and is making its way to mobile devices. Capcom's classic puzzle game makes its return with some faces that are new to the battle.

Developed by Capcom Vancouver, the team has built the game from scratch and is aiming to modernize the classic look and feel of the beloved arcade classic for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

The new Puzzle Fighter will feature many legendary characters from different Capcom IPs. You'll find Street Fighter mainstays such as Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li, Morrigan from Darkstalkers, Mega Man X, Devil May Cry's Dante, Jill from Resident Evil, and both Frank West and Chuck Greene from the Dead Rising series.

Each player will select one main character, with each having unique strengths in battle. You will also be able to select two assist character who will help enhance the abilities of your point fighter.

The latest Capcom Unity blog describes the gameplay as "simple, yet highly addictive puzzle action." Players will build up gems to ultimately destroy them with big combos that will put a hurt on the opponent.

Capcom Vancouver notes that the game will feature real-time player-versus-player gameplay on mobile devices, bringing that head-to-head battle feel on the go.
