Chun-Li receives more changes to her face in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

New trailer, new Chun!

Chun-Li has had a rough time in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite so far. It's not because she's a weak character -- in fact, she's looking quite good at the moment, actually. What I am referring to is the negative feedback from fans concerning her face.

Back at E3 2017, we saw the debut of a new story mode trailer that featured many of the characters on the game's playable roster. Though it revealed a handful of characters for the first time in MvCi, the largest talking point was Chun's face and how it looked... weird.

Since then, it has been a major complaint, and Capcom is well aware of that. Fortunately, we have been seeing slight improvements to her face leading up to launch.

The first came at EVO where fans noticed her looking more like herself in-game. From the look of it, she stayed about the same in the San Diego Comic-Con build (which we have in the gallery below).

Today's story mode trailer has what appears to be a pretty drastic change, though. An official screenshot from the trailer shows a face that looks much more polished and in-line with the character than what we were originally given.

Producer Yoshinori Ono announced at SDCC last month that we will be seeing improvements to Chun-Li's face, as well as changes to other characters, on launch day. It looks as though those changes are already going into effect.

As of right now, we are unsure how these changes will be implemented. From Ono's message, it sounds like players will be prompted with a day 1 patch when initially booting up Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite that will update the game's looks.

It is also possible that these can already be ready at launch with no patch needed. We will have to wait and see.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is set for release on September 19th.
