Street Fighter 5 reports another 100,000 units sold as total sales reach 1.7 million; see numbers for titles like SF Alpha, Cross Tekken and more

Capcom has released an updated sales report, and as of July 30th, Street Fighter 5 has sold 1.7 million copies.

That number is up from 1.6 million back in mid May of this year, and encourages fans and developers alike as it shows the year and a half year old game is still moving forward in sales slowly but surely.

The initial sales report came in during May of 2016, roughly three months after initial launch, and posted the game at 1.4 million units sold.

That number remained unchanged when the following report was released in October of 2016, and it was not until February of this year that we saw SF5 tick up to the 1.5 million mark. The game would jump another 100,000 to 1.6 in May, and we now see that it's at 1.7 just three months later.

Though these are surely not leaps and bounds, progress is still being made. Rumors of a "Super" Street Fighter 5 have been circulating for quite some time now, and data mining continues to hint at additional game content coming down the pike, which would surely see something of a spike in purchases.

Check out the game's placement on the Capcom sales ladder in the image we snapped from Capcom Investor Relations, then hit the jump to see how this compares with other Street Fighter titles like SF4, Cross Tekken, SF Alpha and others.

We went through and scouted out all the Street Fighter games that broke the one million unit sales mark. Different iterations or updates of the same game are billed as their own entity, so Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, for example, are all their own games on this chart.

The number on the far left is the overall rank amongst Capcom games:

Where do you think SF5 will end up overall, especially if it gets a second, "Super" release?
