Updated: Capcom's John Diamonon clarified in a tweet that the down, down Dragon Punch input is real and is in the recent press build of the game. However, according to Heavy the input is only for certain characters -- i.e. Ryu has his traditional input and Morrigan has the down, down input. For now, anyway.

Earlier: Yesterday, we got word of a potential input change for Dragon Punches in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. According to Ryce -- a NeoGAF user who has been quite accurate with MvCI information ahead of time -- Shoryukens are set to be performed by hitting down, down + punch instead of the traditional input in the upcoming versus title.

This detail caused a bit of a stir in the community, with many players not being in favor of it and others perplexed by the decision.

According to Capcom's Senior Director of Licensing and eSports, John Diamonon, this is simply not true. In a tweet sent out earlier today, Diamonon declares the Dragon Punch input change "fake news."

In Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the "down, down" input was reserved mainly for Hyper combos that powered up the character, such as Wolverine's Berserker Charge.

But rest assured, folks, Dragon Punch inputs will still be intact in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
